We’ll cover it all to ensure you’re equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to care for your aging parent expertly.

1. Healthcare Providers:

As your loved one ages, their healthcare needs may change. Finding the right doctors and specialists can be difficult, but it’s crucial for their health and wellbeing. In our Ultimate Resource Guide, we provide information on how to find the right healthcare providers, including geriatricians, dementia specialists, and home healthcare providers. We have included our video here on how to identify an “Age Friendly Healthcare System and Provider.”

One of the essential resources for caregivers is healthcare providers. In our Ultimate Resource Guide, we provide information on how to locate medical professionals such as geriatric doctors, neurologists, and other specialists to address the unique needs of an aging loved one. We also include tips on finding the right medical equipment and assistive devices that can simplify daily living. Additionally, we provide information on mental health resources to help with depression, anxiety, and other challenges that may arise.

2. Legal and Financial Assistance:

Navigating legal and financial matters can be overwhelming, especially when caring for an aging parent. We understand that navigating Medicare, Medicaid, and other government assistance programs can be daunting. In our guide, we provide valuable information on how to access these programs, as well as resources on estate planning and other legal matters.

We also provide information on how to plan and budget for the cost of care. As adult children we often shoulder some of the financial responsibilities that go along with caring for our aging parents. During our Senior Care Summit 2024 we will have education provided by both a Certified Financial Planner as well as an Estate Planning Attorney. Watch for upcoming details on how you can register for the Virtual Summit.

3. Home Care Services:

Many aging parents prefer to remain in their homes as they age, but they may require assistance with daily activities. Our guide includes information on home care services, such as meal delivery, transportation services, and personal care assistance.

Home care services are also vital resources when caring for an aging loved one. Our guide provides information on home health aides, hospice care, senior care centers, and other assisted living communities that can provide assistance with various daily living activities and meet specific medical and social needs.

During our Senior Care Summit, we will hear from experts in senior living, non-medical home care, hospice, as well as palliative care. We will even have an expert in decluttering and downsizing for our aging adults.

4. Support Groups for Caregivers

Caregivers often neglect their own needs while tending to their loved ones. Our resource guide includes information on how to seek support and find caregiver support groups. These groups provide a supportive environment where caregivers can share experiences, advice, and connect with people who understand their unique challenges.

Caring for an aging parent can be emotionally challenging and isolating. We share information on preventing caregiver burnout, self-care techniques, Share the Care Program, and building your support network and caregiving team. During our Summit we will have mental health experts that focus on self-care and caregiver burnout. Find lots if help in this area.
